Alexa ranking a scamI have to admit I was shocked today, I have had a few comments on the blog, and at wealthy affiliate asking whether Alexa Rank a scam. Explaining an Alexa ranking seems straightforward until I looked at their site and I was gobsmacked.

The last time I looked at Alexa ranking, it was free and now just look at these prices, nearly $800 a month, surely are having a giraffe! So back to the question.

My site was around 250,000 for months, a bit up a bit down, but steadily around that place. 4 days after I decided to claim my website and although my traffic was the same -a bit up really, as I was running a new campaign- my alexa ranking fell to 5.300,000… Plus in the meantime I had even more backlinks and better bounce rate than last time I've checked. I think it's a scam, to make people who are interested in the websites, to buy their 800$ memberships… That was the last time I;ve ever checked my Alexa ranking….
